Claudia + Connor | Gasparilla Inn

It was a whirlwind visit the last time I was in Florida. Since living in Oregon, the last 6 years, I’ve been swept back to Florida quite a few times for weddings. Which is honestly the most ideal situation ever. It keeps me connected to home and gives me that extra nudge to get on the plane. This was the first time I had back-to-back weekends booked and it was the best scenario possible. Each wedding had their own unique style, with Claudia’s calling us to bring juicy and moody tones to the Gasparilla Inn.

This was also the first time we’ve designed a wedding on the Gulf Coast of Florida, which graced us with a gorgeous drive across the state of Florida and a terrible radio situation in my dad’s non-Apple Play friendly Honda Element. We listened to a lot of Pink, after which we decided we never need to again. Also, why so much? So many questions about the radio business… I digress…

I called Claudia and Connor’s wedding aesthetic “Flirty Tropical Sunset”. While the colors were leaning more towards the moody end of the spectrum - the textures, movement, and tones of pink were flirty and seemed to bat their eyelashes every time I looked at them. The Gasparilla Inn is a new favorite, we spent time between setup and ceremony flip eating calamari and sitting on the dock watching the various water birds do their afternoon frolic. There was also a snake, which mom and I loved, Ashley hated.
